Welcome

Greetings, and thank you for visiting my page! I’m excited to be back in the Brandon area, where I spend much of my free time outdoors. Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my dogs, which helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Education & Training

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Niagara University in Niagara Falls, New York, and later moved to Florida to complete my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Florida School of Professional Psychology in Tampa.

My clinical training included experiences in the Hillsborough County Public School System, private practices, and a residential program for abused, runaway, and at-risk youth. I also completed my pre-doctoral internship with the Advocate Family Care Network in Illinois, focusing on the Childhood Trauma Treatment Program. There, I received extensive training in therapy and assessment with abused and neglected children, foster and adoptive families, and youth with sexual behavior concerns.

My doctoral dissertation examined the impact of childhood sexual abuse on male self-concept and the effectiveness of different treatment approaches.

Clinical Experience

I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds and family systems. My clinical experience includes addressing:

  • Anxiety, depression, and mood swings

  • Trauma, abuse, and PTSD

  • Attention-deficit and hyperactivity challenges

  • Behavioral and emotional regulation

  • Family conflict, divorce, and parenting concerns

  • Grief and loss

  • Social, relational, and school-related issues

  • Gender identity and self-esteem

  • Obsessive-compulsive and oppositional behaviors

  • Stress and coping skills

  • Psychological, psychoeducational, and gifted testing

My Approach to Therapy

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families, as well as offering individual therapy for adults. I believe that therapy provides a safe and supportive space for children and teens to learn how to express their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and strengthen family communication.

My approach is practical, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, drawing primarily from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family Systems Therapy. I also incorporate expressive modalities such as play therapy and art therapy, depending on a child’s developmental stage and needs.

In our work together, we’ll identify goals, build insight, explore coping strategies, and evaluate progress regularly. Above all, I believe that one of the most important parts of therapy is finding a therapist you feel comfortable with and supported by.
